Make your Día de la Bandera memorable!

Hey everyone!
Hope you all had an amazing Día de los Padres (Father’s Day) weekend! The weather was not very promising, but at least you could have spend the day with your fathers and celebrating with him!

This week is known as the Semana Patria, and Argentina’s celebrated, Día de la Bandera, is on Wednesday, Today! This means that it’s time to relax and enjoy yourself!

I started my mini vacation last night at Beerlingual! We had an awesome turnout at Sugar Bar in Palermo! Lots of people, beer, pizza, onion rings, competition, and good fun! One of the best nights I’ve had there thanks to everyone that came! That’s the way I like to start off my days off!

Today, I’m going to enjoy myself by going and hanging out with some friends, dancing, enjoy the sunshine and all there is to Buenos Aires! That why this city is so amazing. There is so much you can do to enjoy yourself no matter what your preference is. For example, I wanted to learn how to Irish dance for the longest time, and ironically I began doing it here in Buenos Aires! Who would have thought they would actually have had a rather large Irish society here?

On a different note, you don’t always have to spend money in Buenos Aires to have an amazing time. You could go for a walk and enjoy the lovely parks that it has to offer, while drinking mate. One of my personal favorite places to walk in Buenos Aires is around Puerto Madero, around the edge of the river. However, you could do any number of things if you please. Try calling up some of your porteño friends and set up an asado if you want!

In case you didn’t know, drinking mate and having asados are typical argentine social activities. Yerba mate is a kind of tea that they drink here, but it’s not just the regular kind of put a tea bag in water and wait a minute. This yerba mate requires a kind of special preparation process and is quite interesting to learn and take part in. Asados are basically like barbeques, but the argentines mainly use beef and no other type of meat for them. Beef is their specialty down here in Argentina, and they know how to prepare and cook it like no one else in the world! It’s an extremely delicious experience to take part in a true Argentine asado!

So, there you have it! Find friends, go walking, do what ever it is you love to do today, because you can! Enjoy yourselves and have a wonderful Día de la bandera!
